Il nome potrebbe depistarvi facendovi pensare all’ennesima glam band nostalgica degli anni ottanta, ma, pur avendo solide basi nell’hard rock e nello street rock più diretto e grezzo, gli Hollywood Groupies sono una miscela di hard and heavy al passo con i tempi, alternative metal e punk.
Nascono nel 2009 e il loro album di debutto, “Punched by millions, hit by none” (2010) concede alla band la possibilità di esibirsi in Italia e all’estero (Whisky a go go, O2 Academy, …) insieme ad artisti come Motorhead, Twisted sister, Crucified Barbara (Free wheels festival – Courpiere), Vains of Jenna, Adam Bomb…
Nel 2015 la band gira in tour a seguito dei Lordi toccando Olanda, Belgio, Francia, Spagna e Inghilterra.
Nel 2016, a seguito di un brusco cambio di formazione che vede il passaggio da una voce femminile a una voce maschile, incidono il loro secondo album – From ashes to light – che viene pubblicizzato in un secondo tour europeo nel 2017 (Ungheria, Austria, Italia, Svizzera, Spagna, Francia) come opener di Doyle, storico chitarrista dei Misfits.
Nel 2019 in occasione del decennale del primo disco rielaborano “Destroyer commando” e, in parallelo all’attività live (serate in diversi club e festival con Chris Holmes, Grim Reaper, Hell in the club, White Skull ), incidono il loro terzo disco, Anomaly che esce a febbraio 2020; questo, per ovvi motivi, viene pubblicizzato principalmente via web.
Nel 2022 vede la luce il singolo Just like you, il 2023 e il 2024 vedo la ripresa dell’attività live (collaborazione con i Supersuckers) e l’incisione di nuove demo.
A novembre 2025 gli Hollywood Groupies entreranno in studio per il loro quarto album, “Headbangers Breakfast”.

Don’t let the name fool you into thinking they’re just another glam band stuck in the ’80s. While rooted in raw hard rock and gritty street rock, Hollywood Groupies deliver a fierce blend of modern hard & heavy, alternative metal, and punk energy.
Formed in 2009, their debut album Punched by Millions, Hit by None (2010) launched them onto stages across Italy and abroad — from the iconic Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles to London’s O2 Academy — sharing the bill with legends like Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Crucified Barbara (Free Wheels Festival – Courpière), Vains of Jenna, and Adam Bomb.
In 2015, they hit the road with Lordi, touring the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, and the UK. A major lineup shift in 2016 brought a transition from female to male vocals, leading to the release of their second album From Ashes to Light. The record was promoted with a European tour in 2017 (Hungary, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, France) as opening act for Doyle, iconic guitarist of the Misfits.
In 2019, to mark the 10th anniversary of their debut, they reworked Destroyer Commando and recorded their third album Anomaly, released in February 2020. Due to global circumstances, promotion focused heavily on digital platforms. Meanwhile, they kept the live energy alive with shows alongside Chris Holmes, Grim Reaper, Hell in the Club, and White Skull.
2022 saw the release of the single Just Like You, followed by a return to live shows in 2023 and 2024, including a collaboration with Supersuckers and the recording of new demos.
In November 2025, Hollywood Groupies will enter the studio to record their fourth album: Headbangers Breakfast
